Arthraxon hispidus: small carpetgrass/hairy jointgrass

Plant Identification:

  • Growth form: low-growing annual grass growing up to 1.5 ft tall
  • Leaf: ovate to lanceolate leaf blades 2-7 cm long and 5-15 mm wide with hairs along the margins of the laef blades
  • Flowers: borne on few to several digitate spikes measuring 2-4 cm long. Spikelets are 3-5 mm long. Flowers appear between September and October
