Orconectes rusticus: Rusty crayfish
Species Identification:
The rusty crayfish is a large crayfish that can reach 10 cm. It has robust claws and prominent dark, rusty spots on either side of its carapace. A rust colored band appears dorsally down the center of the abdomen. They have a greenish color that is most pronounced on its walking legs. The claws are greyish-green to reddish-brown with black bands at the tips and are fairly smooth.
