Anthriscus sylvestris: Wild chervil

Plant Identification

  • Growth form: herbaceous biennal that can grow up to 1 m high
  • Leaf: alternate, compound, fern-like leaves. Each segment of a leaf can measure 1-5 cm in length
  • Flowers: white with 5 notched petals that bloom May to June
  • Fruit: smooth, lanceolate shaped that are 6 mm long. Fruit starts green and turns brown as it ripens
