Goldfish found in the wild will adapt to their surroundings, as reflected by a large number of color variations. They can be orange/gold, silver, olive green or even creamy white

Impacts of this species 

Feeding habits and ingestion of cyanobacteria can promote harmful algal blooms. Goldfish have also been known to consume the eggs, larvae and adult of native fishes, increase turbidity and deplete native vegetation.

Goldfish are a species of carp, and are present in the Hudson River largely due to aquarium dumping.
