Photinia villosa: Oriental Photinia

Plant Identification:

  • Growth form: deciduous tree to 20' or large shrub
  • Bark: smooth, gray
  • Leaves: simple and alternate; 1.5" to 3" long; pale gold new growth; dark green color; oval-shaped, widening at tip, finely toothed
  • Flowers: white, 5-petaled flowers bloom in late May; 0.3" in diameter
  • Fruit: red, round pomes; oval, 0.3" long, matures in October, attracts wildlife
